A Cingular Christmas Story

Ok, with this one I’ve realized that you either love it or hate it, and well, I just so happen to be part of that first group. A Christmas Story was, and still is, one of my all-time holiday movies and i think this spoof spot was well done. It even has the star appearing in bunny-rabbit pajamas at the end. “You’ll rack the bill up!!” Done by BBDO, if anyone knows what production company was used, feel free to post in the comments(well, feel free to post anyways, but especially if you have any info on the project)

    Hm. I’m leaning more toward the sacrilegious, maybe because I’m down on cellphone ads in general. Maybe it needed to have a different twist instead of being a nearly-faithful copy of this beloved film. Maybe cellphone “Ralphie” is a fat, shlubby 30-something who still lives at home.

    Or perhaps even having this modern day Ralphie wear an eye patch(alluding to having “shot his eye out”) and going with the cellphone plan because he’s learned his lesson? That might be stretching it, ohh well.. to each their own.
