I love a good movie parody, especially when it’s done for one of my favorite movies of all time - The Blues Brothers.
It’s 106 miles to Gainesville, we’ve got a full tank of gas and a half-rack of ribs. It’s hot and we’re wearing alligator suits.
……
Hit it.
This commercial was brought to you courtesy of Jeff Stamp, Jeff Sikaitis and Jake Wheeler from agency Southpaw (Evan Harris was the client producer).
The folks over at Southpaw directed this piece with Tom Rossano as the Executive Producer (Rich Krekian is the Line Producer). Station Film was the production company used along with Kyle Kibbie playing the part of DP.
Jake Wheeler was also the editor for this piece along with Jim Mann from Postworks. Sound Design was by Jody Nazzaro from Bionic TV.
Here’s the latest commercial for the upcoming Mercenaries 2 video game. The music selection is uniquely awesome. We’re so use to seeing combat games being dressed up with special effects and a dark soundtrack that this one immediately stands out….High School Musical style. Also, THIS IS THE DIRECTORS CUT! Enjoy! (Original “on-air” version is posted below)
Draft/FCB, San Francisco was the agency responsible for this spot with Dan Watson as the Senior Broadcast Producer.
The folks over at Shilo directed this spot with co-founder Jose Gomez as Creative Director. Gomez, along with Curtis Doss, was also Lead Designer. Nate Davies, Eugene Gauran Ed Laag, Jon Lorenz and Curtis were the 2D Animators. Tamir Sapir, Cody Smith, Blake Guest and George Longo did all the 3D Modeling. Blake Guest, Trentity DeWitt, Nate Davies and George Longo also did all the 3D Animation. Kiel Figgins, Blake Guest, Jorma Auburn and Bren Wilson did the Character Animation.
Santino Sladavic and Jake Hibler were the Executive Producer/Producer team for this piece with Dara Norris as the Sound Producer for Wojahn Bros Music. Scott and Rojer Wojahn were the composers for the on-air version of this cheery-yet-badass soundtrack. You may have noticed that the music used in the directors cut is different from what was used in the “on-air” version, it’s because the directors cut audio was created by a team from Beacon Street Studios. Special arrangements for that song’s use were made between Shilo and Beacon Street for that release.
Here’s the version that made it to broadcast -
Mercenaries 2 - Cash:
For Draft/FCB, Colin McRae is the ACD/CW along with ACD/AD Tony Vazquez. The Executive Creative Director at Draft/FCB is Matt Reinhard.
This is a clever new campaign for Cadbury Schweppes owned sweets manufacturer The Natural Confectionery Company. It’s what would happen if you let a 10 year old with an over-developed sense of reality do the voice-over for his gummy-bears. Pretty funny if you ask me. The one shown above is named Raphael and we’re introduced to one hard dinosaur-head-ripping-off bear, or so he’ll have you believe. The other two in the set involve an army of mumbling pineapples and a trumpet loving gummy treat.
Bring on the trumpets!
Having never been to Australia, this is actually the first time that I’ve heard about this brand. Apparently their jellies are the most popular jelly product on Australian supermarket shelves [source]. Cool.
What’s a shame about this brand is their utter lack of interactive presence. If you visit their website you will think that you’ve somehow transported back to 1990 and are visiting a Geocities page made by your niece. Get with the times guys! You’re owned by Cadbury Schweppes, the least you could do is update your website, heck, get Cadbury to have the folks that did theirs design you one as well!
Matt Keon from Fallon, London was the Creative for this campaign with Gemma Knight as the Agency Producer. Tom Kuntz from MJZ was the Director with Neil Jordan as the Production Company Producer.
Here’s the latest campaign coming out of the UK for fast-food chain KFC. Created by Adam Arber and Andy Drugan from BBH London, we are shown average individuals attempting above-average feats of strength. The one shown above, Sign, is my favorite out of the series and portrays a roadside worker who ‘pulls out all the stops.’
Ben Davies was the Agency Producer with Ben Gregor directing for Knucklehead, London. James Bland was the Knucklehead Producer (sorry, couldn’t resist) with Steve Keith Roach as the DP. Sally Phillips was the post Producer with Absolute. Alaster Jordan was the editor for Whitehouse and they used Wave, London for the sound engineering.
Crispin Porter + Bogusky, Miami have recently come out with two new commercials to promote Burger King’s new Cheesy Bacon Tendercrisp burger. The first one, shown above, is named Motel and shows us what at first looks like a cheating husband. After zooming in on the burger being devoured a knock comes at the door….then the whole door gets kicked in. Since this man isn’t cheating on his wife he can only be cheating on…Bessie.
The second spot, found below, in this set is named Makeout Point and is equally funny in its representation of a ‘cheating burger eater.’
Burger King - Makeout Point
Copywriter Michael Danko and Senior Art Directors Lynn Born & David DeRoma are responsible for these spots with Matt and Amy Bonin as the Executive/Integrated Producers.
Happy/Guy Shelmerdine directed for Smuggler and featured Chan Hatcher from NumberSix as the Editor. Sebastian Pfaffenbichler was the DP.
