These ads have been all over the ‘net recently. Great looking campaign done by Nike to promote their sponsored Italian football players. I love it when advertising starts to look like art. Done by W+K, Amsterdam (CDs: Mark Hunter & Alvaro Sotomayor).

Here’s a rought translation (thanks to I believe in adv):

Materazzi Cupboards. World leading solidity tested for headbutts.
Pirlo Precision Tools. Worldwide leader in finishing touch under pressure.
Pasta Gattuso. No.1 in the world: it never overcook, not even in extra time.

A cool new medium for street advertising which uses pressure washers to “write” ads into dirty areas of the sidewalk/pavement/walls. The first image can be found around Vancouver and was done to promote the 2006 Lotus Awards. Created by Vision Media, this type of outdoor advertising gets props for being not-only creative/original(well, using pressure washers at least – see CA Awards Annual 2004 – Toyota(Australia)) but also eco-friendly. The second campaign can be found around Europe and was conceptualized by O&M/London to promote the reduced-emissions Ultimate fuel by BP. Supposedly they are asking for permission before “cleaning” their message into public places, but I guess we’ll just have to wait and see. Two years ago UK graffiti artist ‘Moose’ was fined for creating a reverse stencil to promote the Smirnoff brand(he would hand-scrub the surface with chemicals however). Clever.

These are pretty cool looking magazine ads for the International Surf Museum that’s now open in Huntington Beach, CA. Done by Christopher Gyorgy (AD) from YR/Irvine, these incorporate a vintage look and feel in order to showcase surf legends. My favorite is the third one with the copy: “Before Jesus walked on it, Polynesians rode on it.” Checkout the little Jesus icon towards the top of the ad (I like that added little touch).
