Here’s a pretty funny new commercial coming out of Argentina for Axe Body Wash. It starts out rather sweet with birds flocking to a young man who’s just gotten out of the shower, offering him a towel, then takes a turn for the worse. He walks out to his bedroom only to be assaulted by various animals, all of whom try to dress him as if he was a princess. It’s a re-inactment of the scene from Disney’s animated Sleeping Beauty story, where the birds help the poor girl get ready for the prince. Or so I’ve been told… it’s not like I’ve seen it 100 times or anything, promise!

It also has a great tag-line to wrap it all up at the end:

If you use a Woman’s Soap, You’ll smell like one.

This piece also shows us what could have happened if the guy had instead used a men’s soap like Axe body wash - Once again, animals assault the young man. This time though they all have the body of supermodels and I wouldn’t really call it “assault.”

Clever.

This spot was by Joaquin Cubria and Ignacio Ferioli from Vegaolmosponce. Marcelo Burgos was the Director from Garlic Films along with Pancho Alcaine as the Director of Photography. Luis Ramirez was the Art Director from the production company and Pablo Plant was the Editor. Post-production was done by MiopĂa. The music for this piece was an adapted version of Tchaikovski’s Sleeping Beauty by Swing Musica.

Here’s a new take on an old skit. It’s a commercial for Scott Tissue where expressed idioms take on a physical form when called out. The first one being a 1950s diner waitress named Louise after the star of this commercial exclaims “Jeeze Louise” when experiencing the softness of the toilet paper. Louise then goes on to mutter “holy mackerel” and the joke continues on a few more times.

The above commercial was conceptualized by JWT (where Kash Shree is Creative Director) with Angela Buck as Agency Producer.

Mike Maguire from The Directors Bureau was the Director with Barry Peterson as the DP. Melissa Culligan was the Executive Producer along with Youree Henley who was the Line Producer. Editing was by Dave Koza from Mackenzie Cutler.

This is a clever new campaign for Cadbury Schweppes owned sweets manufacturer The Natural Confectionery Company. It’s what would happen if you let a 10 year old with an over-developed sense of reality do the voice-over for his gummy-bears. Pretty funny if you ask me. The one shown above is named Raphael and we’re introduced to one hard dinosaur-head-ripping-off bear, or so he’ll have you believe. The other two in the set involve an army of mumbling pineapples and a trumpet loving gummy treat.

Bring on the trumpets!

Having never been to Australia, this is actually the first time that I’ve heard about this brand. Apparently their jellies are the most popular jelly product on Australian supermarket shelves [source]. Cool.

What’s a shame about this brand is their utter lack of interactive presence. If you visit their website you will think that you’ve somehow transported back to 1990 and are visiting a Geocities page made by your niece. Get with the times guys! You’re owned by Cadbury Schweppes, the least you could do is update your website, heck, get Cadbury to have the folks that did theirs design you one as well!

Matt Keon from Fallon, London was the Creative for this campaign with Gemma Knight as the Agency Producer. Tom Kuntz from MJZ was the Director with Neil Jordan as the Production Company Producer.

The other two, Trumpets and Mumble can be found below the fold:

Here’s the latest campaign coming out of the UK for fast-food chain KFC. Created by Adam Arber and Andy Drugan from BBH London, we are shown average individuals attempting above-average feats of strength. The one shown above, Sign, is my favorite out of the series and portrays a roadside worker who ‘pulls out all the stops.’

Ben Davies was the Agency Producer with Ben Gregor directing for Knucklehead, London. James Bland was the Knucklehead Producer (sorry, couldn’t resist) with Steve Keith Roach as the DP. Sally Phillips was the post Producer with Absolute. Alaster Jordan was the editor for Whitehouse and they used Wave, London for the sound engineering.

Others in the series (shown below) are:

Crispin Porter + Bogusky, Miami have recently come out with two new commercials to promote Burger King’s new Cheesy Bacon Tendercrisp burger. The first one, shown above, is named Motel and shows us what at first looks like a cheating husband. After zooming in on the burger being devoured a knock comes at the door….then the whole door gets kicked in. Since this man isn’t cheating on his wife he can only be cheating on…Bessie.

The second spot, found below, in this set is named Makeout Point and is equally funny in its representation of a ‘cheating burger eater.’

Burger King - Makeout Point

Copywriter Michael Danko and Senior Art Directors Lynn Born & David DeRoma are responsible for these spots with Matt and Amy Bonin as the Executive/Integrated Producers.

Happy/Guy Shelmerdine directed for Smuggler and featured Chan Hatcher from NumberSix as the Editor. Sebastian Pfaffenbichler was the DP.
